Stefan modified his longstanding ensemble Voyage and Voyage West (of which Tammy has been a member) into a trio with flute, which wonderfully complements voice and mallet instruments (and piano), especially in the hands of a virtuoso like Michel. 

Their music lives from musical trialogue, its effect has been characterised as “contemplative, stories without words, philosophy in notes, serenity through motion”, “compositions containing romantic and impressionistic elements, enriched by sharpness and formal awareness, and by magnificent sounds full of fantasy” and a rhythmic coherence that has been strengthened by countless jazz-performances by these three musicians. But in spite of individualistic interpretations of such jazz ‘war-horses’ as Duke Ellingston’s “Caravan” or L. Bernstein’s “Some other time” there is room for the odd popsong, pieces inspired by tours in Africa, India and the Middle East, or a J.S. Bach Choral.
